- the US film (1986) that made Tom Cruise an international star. He plays the part of an aggressive student pilot at Top Gun, the US Navy Fighter Weapons School at San Diego, California. The film contains exciting scenes of air battles, and its song, Take My Breath Away, won an Oscar . A second film, Top Gun: Maverick, set thirty years later, was released in 2022.“You can be my wingman any time.”
