  1. a US comedy act popular from the 1930s to the 1960s made up of three comedians who appeared in films and on television using slapstick comedy (= a type of humour based on people hitting each other, falling over, etc.). The original characters were called Larry, Moe and Curly, although the actual comedians who played them changed over the years.
