- a very successful British television series about the development of life on this planet, written and presented by David Attenborough and broadcast on the BBC in 1979. More series on natural history have followed it, all presented by Attenborough, including: The Living Planet (1984), The Trials of Life (1990), The Private Life of Plants (1995), The Life of Birds (1998), The Blue Planet (2001) and Blue Planet II (2017).
