John Dos Passos

- (1896-1970) a US author who wrote about the problems of 20th-century American life. He is best known for USA, a series of three related novels called 42nd Parallel (1930), 1919 (1932) and The Big Money (1936). Dos Passos used fictional characters and real events in describing the failures of modern society.
