John Dankworth

- (1927-2010) an English saxophone player, writer of jazz music and leader of his own jazz orchestra. In 1985 he became the Pops Music Director of the London Symphony Orchestra. He was married to the jazz singer Cleo Laine. He was made a knight in 2006.
