  1. (1925-2001) a US actor, mainly in comic roles. His best-known films include Some Like It Hot (1959), The Apartment (1960), The Days of Wine and Roses (1962) and The Odd Couple (1967), in which he appeared with Walter Matthau. Lemmon and Matthau also acted together in Grumpy Old Men (1993) and Grumpier Old Men (1995).
