  1. (1921-67) an English sports driver whose aim was to travel faster than anybody had ever done before. In the 1950s and 1960s he held the world records for speed on land and water. He died in 1967 when his boat Bluebird crashed while he was trying to break another speed record. Malcolm Campbell was his father.
