Christopher Isherwood

/ˌkrɪstəfər ˈɪʃərwʊd/
- (1904-86) an English writer of novels and plays. The musical show Cabaret was based on a story in his 1939 collection Goodbye to Berlin, and much of his other writing is based on his experiences in Germany before the Second World War. He also wrote three plays with W H Auden. In 1939 he moved with Auden to the US and later became a US citizen.
