- a US company that makes aircraft. Its well-known passenger planes include the Boeing 707, 737 and 747 (the jumbo jet). In 1997 it joined other companies to create a satellite for the internet. William Boeing (1881-1956) began the company in 1917, and its main offices are in Chicago.
