- a British company formed in 1970 by Richard Branson. It began as a record company, producing and selling records through its own shops. In 1984 it introduced an airline service, Virgin Atlantic. The Virgin Group now offers many other products and services, including financial and travel services and healthcare. It also has a radio station, Virgin Radio. It also operates some train services in Britain.
