(abbreviation the NLRB)
- an independent US government organization responsible for preventing illegal practices in industrial relations and settling arguments between workers and managers. It was established by the National Labor Relations Act (1935) to direct trade-union elections and to protect unions from companies that try to get involved with and influence their organization and members.
