- Susan Brownell Anthony (1820-1906) a US teacher who was a leader of the campaign for women's right to vote. In 1869, she and Elizabeth Cady Stanton established the National Woman Suffrage Association. Anthony was its President from 1892 to 1900 and she also organized the International Council of Women in 1888. Her image is on the Anthony dollar.
