- (1943-2017) a US actor who also wrote and directed plays and films. His play Buried Child (1978) won the Pulitzer Prize, and he wrote such films as Paris, Texas (1984) and Silent Tongue (1994). His films as an actor include The Right Stuff (1983), Crimes of the Heart (1986) and The Pelican Brief (1993).
