  1. Pelham Grenville Wodehouse (1881-1975) an English writer of humorous novels and short stories. He is best known for his books about Jeeves and Bertie Wooster, but he wrote many other stories of life among the English aristocracy. He also wrote the words for several successful American musical comedies. He became a US citizen in 1955, and was made a knight in 1975.
