Kansas City

- the largest city in the US state of Missouri. It is connected to Kansas City, Kansas and was established at the beginning of the Santa Fe Trail. It is now a major industrial centre for the production of steel and vehicles. In the late 1920s, Kansas City became a centre for jazz. 'Count' Basie and 'Duke' Ellington both began their careers there.
