- a British television soap opera about the lives of the people who live in Coronation Street, a street in an imaginary place called Weatherfield, which represents a typical working-class area near Manchester. It is one of Britain's most popular programmes and one of the world's oldest soap operas. It started in 1960 and is often called Corrie.
