- a Scottish football team, based in Glasgow. Traditionally, Celtic's supporters are from Glasgow's Roman Catholic community, and their rivals, Rangers, are supported by the Protestants. Celtic and Rangers are the two most successful teams in the history of Scottish football. In 1967 Celtic became the first British team to win the European Cup.
